INDIANAPOLIS, IN — With a nod to the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s, the U.S. Postal Service on May 21 is issuing new postage stamps honoring the lives and legacies of four of the movement’s greatest voices: novelist Nella Larsen; writer, philosopher, educator and arts advocate Alain Locke; bibliophile and historian Arturo Alfonso Schomburg; and poet Anne Spencer.

WASHINGTON, DC — The natural beauty of American gardens is being celebrated by the U.S. Postal Service by issuing stamps that feature gardens ranging from botanical to country estate and municipal gardens. All the gardens featured on the 10 stamps are open to the public. The American Gardens Forever stamps are available for purchase nationwide May 13.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The 28th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, scheduled for May 9, 2020, has been postponed. The USPS, NALC, as well as other national partners, are fully committed to rescheduling the food drive later in 2020.

The Postal Service is following social distancing guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health departments to determine if dedication ceremonies will be held for these stamps. The ability to hold a ceremony will depend on the federal, state and local health guidelines in place at the time.
